About Cheryl F. Hiemstra, Attorney at Law

Cheryl has been an attorney since 2013.  She first prosecuted criminal cases in Oregon, including 8 cases through trial.  From 2013-2024, she served at the Oregon Department of Justice.  She developed policy and negotiated laws at the Oregon Legislature to combat fraud and protect privacy.  She litigated complex civil cases, including with the trial team in the antitrust case Colorado, et. al v. Google in 2023.

Cheryl is originally from Whatcom County where she grew up with the Nooksack River as her backyard.  She grew up in and around agriculture, and the picture here is of her driving a raspberry harvesting machine during her high school years.  Cheryl knows the long hours of raspberry harvest, the refreshing chill of a swim in Lake Whatcom, and the blessing of a community that pulls together.
